Election History

Telangana's 2019 Lok Sabha elections saw a dramatic political landscape shift, with the ruling Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS), led by Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao, trying to consolidate power. The TRS, boosted by its good result in the 2018 state elections, competed for all 17 parliamentary seats in the state. The main opposition parties, notably the Indian National Congress and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), attempted to challenge the TRS' supremacy. However, the TRS maintained its grip, gaining 9 of the 17 seats. The Congress won three seats, while the BJP gained four seats, indicating a major increase in its presence in the state. Overall, the 2019 Lok Sabha elections in Telangana demonstrated continuity.
